Description

You know me, I can't stay away from the beach for very long. This is back on my favorite pier, sunrise, about two weeks ago. Leaned out a ways to get the shot, but no photographers were harmed in the making of this foto!!

Earth shaking! Some might say the tops of the pilings are blown out, but for some reason this works. This is a rule buster:)))

This is amazing. When I took a picture of my hiking friend and the skylight was in between us with a strong heat wave coming out, the heat wave just changed, twisted his picture just as the water does to these poles. Interesting shot. Aloha

I agree that this is your signature style...it's like listening to Prokofiev and knowing deep down in the marrow of your bones that it's something by Prokofiev, even if you've never heard it before. Your style strikes me that way...it's not like a personal cliche at all, it's just the way you see things and it's YOUR way...and here, you've gone deliciously abstract with those reflections and your choice of focus. I love this shot. It's almost like drinking beer with Pavl before he says something so bizarre and profound that all you can do is sit there wondering how the heck his brain just came up with that. This is great! I agree with Bill, also...this image might go against a particular set of "sensibilities" but it works so perfectly. The light saturation at the top of the image actually strikes me like the cinematography in the newest incarnation of Star Trek or Battlestar Galactica where the light gains a particular intensity that washes itself out...but it's so darn compelling and perfect and it tells you that artistic aesthetic senses are moving away from old fashioned constipation and embracing something more dream-like and realistic all in the same stroke. THAT is brilliant and I love it.
