Description

Usually Nuts will just sit on the porch with me. I will buy him some unsalted peanuts when I go shopping, and he comes and sits by me and eats some. One day he was sitting with us on the front porch and the neighbor came by with his dog. Nuts thought that up the back of my shirt was a great place to hide that day. In the picture on my last post, he knew he was being bad. I have a lot of catching up to do and so little time to do it. I still haven't got my tree up yet. I am bringing that up tonight. I have to check the lights and ornaments. I will be catching up soon. Love and peace, Cheri

Great overall capture and flattened tail on Nuts, and is that the reflection of a flash in its eye? Really keen to have a pal like that to enjoy at least part of the day. And, I'll be glad to see your Rendo comments when you get back to it, Cheri.

This is priceless. I have a soft spot for squirrels, mostly because as a kid, I lived in a house with three enormous Maple trees in the back yard. Whenever people I didn't like would park under the two trees that shaded the driveway, squirrels would inevitably poop on the cars of those dubious people in question. That was always amusing, because our back yard was never full of squirrel droppings, but the cars of "bad people" always got a generous collection of squirrel drops. Nuts running up your back...? Well, that's typical; they'll climb anything simply because it's there! This is a gorgeous shot. I love the reflection in his eye. His fluffy tail reminds me of Ranger Rick's companion, "Sammy the Squirrel" who if I remember correctly, was a forest ranger. Oooh...did I just admit to reading Ranger Rick as a kid...and still liking that magazine now? Oh well. This is a great shot and hopefully you're having an enjoyable time with Christmas tree preparations.

Nuts is a little hoser!!! If it weren't for the fact that Cheri befriended him, I would've made some kind of arrangement for him to not come back. As it is, all I can do now is sigh, and live with his tiny terrorist activities. I hope you all realize that not only will he have an apparently really warm nest for this winter, but Cheri will make sure the tree rat is well fed also! Thus making him probably the most sought after and eligible bachelor available to all of the female squirrels in the area, which would explain perfectly why all of the squirrels in the neighborhood look NUTS!! ( or at least just like him ).

Well that explains everything. It's a devil squirrel! You can see it in his eyes. Great capture of a big squirrel. Has he been back since his vandalism?

That eye must be looking directly into the flash for that reflection in Nuts eye. Old trick but it always worked for me. Using clear tape, tape a piece of white toilet paper over the flash. Works on dogs and cats also. Dana
