Description
Captured 10/18/09, at the beautiful Orchid Show held in the beautiful Huntington Botanical Center and Conservatory in beautiful San Marino, California.
In my fascination with photographers at the event, or, come to think of it, at any event, I thought this couple was kinda interesting, shown being so completely absorbed in their task at hand, with some good equipment at their disposal. Actually, this could be a mirror image of ourselves.
BTW, these were not long distance shots...I was practically right on top of them when I snapped the pics, using my tripod no less.
And, can her shorts get any shorter or tighter?
I have more shots of this industrious pair that I will post tomorrow.
Ta-ta, and thankx for coming by.

To answer your question Harry...No, I don't think so:) It is quite possible she wanted to be photographed in the first place! Your excellent, up close photography proves the point that photographers have all their thoughts whizzing around in their heads and lose complete track of time and circumstances about them. Well done!

The shorts question answer first. Yes, yes they can. Look they don't even know anyone but them and the flowers exist. I get that way, that's why Dave is always watching where I am going if I have my camera in hand. I could walk off a pier or cliff.

She looks like she's going to do herself an injury. That just can't be comfortable. But they are both totally involved in the picture taking. They have such looks of concentration. I like the way she holds the camera as she shoots with the two fingers out. Great shots!

the whole series is wonderful, all kinds of strange positions & that inimitable look of concentration for each shot, and sometimes the look of fatigue that comes from staying with the shot & having to repeat it. I knew that even when I wasn't shooting pictures, because I saw it in the photographers I knew. You got the expressions here & in the others too (the first shot of #3 shows the woman looking really tired, and yet her face says, "I'm not quitting!") Some terrific moments! And here we see how photographers twist & turn and then have to hold that position, when they find the all holy shot. Boy, I'm beginning to understand that, and I only have a point & shoot. You really do have to be agile, kind of like plumbing: You turn where the problem is, you turn where the picture is. And I don't know cameras, but can I assume that that lady's camera is just a litttttttttle more than a couple hundred bucks? That's a big freakin' lens! Only photographers twist this way, and I wonder how you shot this with their permission, since you couldn't exactly blend into the scenery at that close an angle. Wonderful capture and series. And Harry, if I don't comment on them all it's because my browser is crawling this morning, I mean it's cuh-rawling, and it's so slow I'm about to throw it out the window! I'll comment more soon...but at least I looked a lot. And these two photographers might know each other; but from what I've seen of photographers, they can be total strangers and yet become quickly intimate through the common shot. It's really a unique art: It brings total strangers together over one tiny thing, and for a moment you're best friends! Lovely series. Really fine.
