Description

Another shot from the underground train station in Chicago. I like the contrast in this one between the long view and the up-close train. Sorry to not be very entertaining tonight ... it's been a hectic week, and I'm tired!

Bright lights...big city...even underground! I always am drawn into a photo with a vanishing point and you have one...wayyyy down there as the empty track disappears into the realm of imagination. That's something my father taught me. He only took pictures from 1923 until 2007:)

Exhaustion is the watchword tonight (I just dozed off and woke up late enough to realize it's almost the next day.) Ooh, I know exactly where this is. You weren't too far from the Art Institute, were you! I love the perspective and the urban grit sort of feeling to it...its not dirty and grungy and gray like most of Chicago's urban-ness is, but it has that clean functionality, though it also has that sort of underground city feel you'd get in a classic film like THX-1138--and that's always a good thing. I love this piece of work!

If I find myself actually IN a place like this I can't wait to escape to the open air. But from the safety of my chair next to the door to the garden I keep looking and wandering round what is a complex rectilinear composition, without having my breathing compromised!

I would have walked the walk had you cropped it just above the train window. Instead I'll stay in my seat.

Interesting shot! The close proximately of the train and the cars made me think of the fact that the car rules the transportation world today, while the massive train takes a back seat. Great perspective and lighting!
