Description

Hoarfrost that grew on a bump in a snowbank which could be Silhouetted against the deep blue sky on a beautiful morning in Southeast Alaska. This form of frost typically forms in long hexagonal chains on just about any exposed surface. It can be extraordinarily beautiful on a sunny day, like a coating of diamond on trees, stones, branches and even on snow.
