Description

Captain's Log, Supplemental On passing Pluto, which I consider to still be a planet, we took a moment to get what is a tradition in the Space Service... the Beauty Shot....wide angle of our ship leaving the Solar System for the first time...we came to full stop, while powering up the engines for the first full burn that would get us up to .95 of light for our journey out... one of our crewmen took out ashuttle craft and went out a little ahead of us to take the picture... that's Pluto's moon Callisto just below us. and off in the distance is our Sun...artifacts are created in the picture to gie it some depth... It is a tradition that this picture be taken on a ship's first excursion into the black.. and the other tradition is that we travel through the system, rather than going straight up or strait down... it goes back to the days of early exploration... a tribute to those who risked so much for the glory of space travel... once on board, most of the crew will be chambered and we will start the countdown to full burn, to run to the stars... Captain Robert April, Captain of the A.S. Enterprise.... beginning the new series...a few twists in the old mythology... I figure if Hollywood can re-write one of it's most durable franchises... why can't I... comments welcome, please enjoy!

I must admit, this is a beautiful lensflare... maybe that is, what you will see, if you fly with Richard Branson's 'VIRGIN GALACTIC' Cheers BB
