A work in progress! Hi! My name is Melinda. I am happily married to the love of my life and we have a daughter who is in college. I live in Southern California and I am an amateur photographer. My husband bought me my Kodak P880 for Christmas in 2006. I looked at it and thought I'd never figure it out! I've only taken regular every day snapshots and never looked through the lens in a "creative" way. Then in March 2007 someone introduced me to Renderosity.  In May, I became brave and decided to upload my first photo... I haven't been able to put my camera down since! LOL. I still have a lot to learn, but I sure am having fun doing it. I have come a long way though. This time last year, I couldn't even put a photo on the computer! Now I have started to research DSLR cameras ... Who knows what the future brings! Update: I now have that DSLR :) Was the best Christmas (2008) gift!   I did the research and picked it out and Santa put it under the tree. It's a Canon Rebel Xsi .

I have a new DSLR, the Canon 7OD. A gift from my husband for Mother's Day. So much to explore!

Dear Artist, This morning, after commenting on a post cipki, I was attracted by one of your pictures in the gallery ... as you do too, so you can find new artists that we do not know ... you also say that your talent seemed to gradually reach the minimum quality of what was exceptional photographer Valerie. It was a great friend, like my big girl, and we were very osmosis. I feel the tears well up whenever I watch her work, her messages she sent me, she was able to support me on Renderosity. That I wanted you to know that she died on 07/06/2008 of a stroke ... and this year I did a post in his memory, independently of the page that I have dedicated my site staff. Friendly here, considering you as a new Valerie. THANK YOU for your talent! Claude

Fabulous image! Love the light, the colors, the contrast between pier and sky ... and the lighthouse is great! Really nice work all the way around.

Super. Makes me wonder how many lighthouses there are on all our coasts and Great Lakes. This could be your first of many:) I've taken a few on the east coast but there are so many more! Well done.

Wow, super duper POV, lighting and mist effects in this shot, Melinda! With those strata of colors, are you sure you didn't use a gradient layer on this one?

Gorgeous. I particularly like the perspective. It would have been easy to have that walkway approaching its vanishing point dead center, but you de-centered it and allowed so much more into this photo for that. The lighthouse at the end of the pier is great, but I'm particularly taken by the way the reddish tones accent the bluish water and sky, with those wonderful shades of pink. This is amazing!
