Description

And as I promised, here it is another drawing of l984/December:-) In that neighborhood, which I had spoke before, I used to have a coffee in a *tavern*;I was there, everyday, for some time looking around... observing...I was already known there:-) "One woman(around 40)was there, always, everyday, in the afternoon... doing nothing, but looking for the ground, with an *half-smiling*. She never talked, only some "yes/no..." I asked the owner why? The lady told me, that she lived there, alone, that worked in the morning, and was always there all the afternoon, till the night coming..."" (if you want to see her smile you have to zoom) = ink pen and water= *Thank you for your time here, with me:-)*

This is quite touching, Ana. I love the drawing itself...so simple and elegant and the story behind it seems a bit melancholy as PHELINAS pointed out. I think that the lone woman and the wine bottle are also somewhat melancholy, as she's alone and not sharing the wine with someone. This is amazing!

Yeah that is the impression i get too, as Chip and PHELINAS. What a lovely little painting/drawing. I like very much the mix between drawing and painting. It looks fantastic. You are so good at this... too Ana :-)))

It reminds me of the 'absinthe drinker'..I forget who painted her. You have really captured her loneliness, wonderful!

people can be lonely even if there are lots of other people around - she looks lonely to me, but perhaps sitting there gave her peace. who knows. you captured it marvelously, ana.

A touching vignette - well done without saying, as it's your delicate line and quick study that come through. The connection with today's pen & ink and wash is obvious.

Wonderful drawing and story. Her smile is beautiful, and it reflects her heart. I think there is a grace working within her, a beauty of soul, that comes out in your drawing. She makes me want to know her, to share, to be amazed by what keeps her smiling. The stories behind each one of us are treasures. So many walk on by without ever knowing what it is like to really take time for others. There is such fear that locks people into themselves. They look, but don't see. They talk, but don't hear. They feel their own emotions, but not those of others. See what your art does to me, Ana? It is a conversation between us, a look at the beauty of life, even if it is perceived as a negative. There are always those who can make us take another look, and see beyond our own perceptions, as does this woman with a smile. Thank you for sharing this, Ana.

touching, especially along with your story, Ana... it is not typical of a Russian lady sitting with a bottle all alone... perhaps many would love to spend the afternoon like this, though... in your elegant style and great feel of the moment!
