Description

I saw both, down the road! One, with the shoulder against the wall, sitting on the floor ...the other, sitting on a rung... I could not see more, than a great fatigue. =pencil on butter-paper= =Thank you so much for beeing here, with me=

SOOO Wonderful drawings Ana. You have a beautiful style. The one to the right looks like one without much hope.

What expressive work. Your art is always very strong in expression and grace and this is a perfect example of it. Wonderful! It's almost dream-like, and of course I love it!

i think mia puts it well, once empty those eyes cannot see nor understand life anymore. it must be like from far away and grey and grey and without the power to get back or the will to get back. and there, from where the journey into this dilemma once started, they will certainly not find any comfort. life can be a huge trap and you depict this so wonderfully, ana :)))

So much is expressed through the eyes. When that expression turns empty, it is very hard to witness. In very simple lines, you tell a complexity of sorrow. Very nicely done.

the people had no hope, but see, your drawing has a life all its own. So, even as you portray the empty stares of troubled souls, you include your vision of humanity and your impeccable sense of human music--ie, the music that we all display through our bodies, looks & forms. The left image is so sculptural, you've shown her in her most basic "forms": Ovals & ellipses for her legs and arms and torso. And it's divided into simple dark & light, like yin & yang, or inner & outer. And the left image has those same shapes, only with heavier shading and a sense of leaning towards us: She almost appears 'reaching', like she's reaching out for something. Both use the simplest techniques, but both are very expressive. Your hand is Ballet, Ana, it's Ballanchine & Diaghilev. This "Memories" series is so typical of how sensitive you are with pencil & inks, and how well you capture humanity in simple strokes. Very touching work once more, you capture the many moods of human feeling. It's truly very touching...
