Description
Long chains of hexagonal ice crystals coat this spruce branch. Each chain is hollow, like a delicate crystal straw, and the facets around the sides catch the sun and reflect the light brilliantly when directly lit, turning the forest into a dazzling kaleidoscope of shimmering white.
The same sunlight that shines so beautifully through these growing prisms also brings their doom with it, proving once again that beauty is a fleeting concept unless captured in mind's eye, or a camera's lens.
