Description

Hello and I hope you are all well. Last night a Blizzard decided to take aim at us. Yes we name winter storms like they name hurricanes. This is our first winter storm this season, and it was a biggen. They named her Allison. At about 3 pm on the 8th, as she was coming they canceled the winter storm warnings and issued a blizzard warning for Allison. By 6 am this morning we had 9.5 inches here. It still has not stopped snowing. I don't know what we are up to now. It is the really heavy wet stuff on the bottom and the light powdery stuff on the top. We are also having 50 MPH winds to top it off. Ok the guys are out shoveling again. Dave let's me help but only a little, so I am going to go make them something warm. Much peace and love, Cheri

Wow that's a good bit of snow! We had a small flurry blow through end of last week but it was gone as quickly as it came. Do not get snow often here in Louisiana. When we do they tend to shut everything down as well. LOL

What a great way to document the falling snow! We got it too here in Kansas but not near to your amount...well, maybe 5-6 inches...but the high winds are blowing a lot of it away.

I don't know which I hate more of snowstorms like this, the fact that we live on a corner, which means twice as much shoveling as most people, or the stinking snowplows that fill up the driveway aprons with loads of the heavy stuff, and literally entomb the corner itself, which is then our responsibility to clear. As much as I didn't want to go out and clean this all up, tomorrow we are expecting a high of 4 degrees Fahrenheit, which means everything on the ground and sidewalks will be frozen pretty much solid. We are expecting things to warm up considerably by the weekend though,.....going to be a balmy 24! Nice shots sweetie, it looks beautiful, but what a major pain!

I did see the blizzard warning for the central US on the weather report this morning and it looked fierce. We woke up to 23 degree temperatures and that's not as bad as where you are but we are a dry, valley that sees 100 degree summers so it is very hard on us. It set a record for low temperatures here. Great collage.

Ah, memories! The winter we left New York it had the worst blizzard in eighty years. We were stuck in Poughkeepsie for a week while they cleared the highway. Then we were stuck in New York City for another week because the mayor shut down the roads so they could be cleared. Great pictures but maybe I'll just visit.

OMG please don't send it this way!! great. Snow is great if you don't have to get to work. They forecast a cold snap and possilbe snow next week coming this way from Siberia - kinda hoping it warms up on the way over!! Great captures and layout, brrrrrr makes me cold to look!

I've been thinking of you two. Brrrr that's cold. I noticed your comment to Harry, saying it looked warm. :-) I'll bet that's the first thought that comes to your mind for a lot of pictures. We lived on a corner in New Jersey and I totally understand Dave's comment, though in New Jersey it didn't snow nearly as much. Beautiful pictures! I wish you some warmth and light or absent winds.
