Description

Listening to the sounds of rocks breaking apart, moving or looking for a bright red glow at the bottom of the already harden lava tells you something is about to break loose. Set your camera, get ready and cross your fingers. Poof!!!! It Happens. Interesting to know is that the pressure of the fluid lava will slowly inflate the already harden surface and eventually raise it higher than the older lava rocks seen in the background. It was noticeable in some of my time lapse video that the ground would inch its way upwards. Taking a break away from this lava field series and see what's happening elsewhere. Hope it was enjoyable. Aloha and thank you for viewing

I do have to keep reminding myself that lava is rock...rock so hot it flows like pudding on a plate. The patterns created by the cooling and by the constant movement inside is really hypnotizing. Outstanding, Errol, and always a pleasure to view.

This has been one of your best series. You can redo this series frequently and the images are never the same. Hope you saw that me using two of your lava shots in two photo manipulations went over very well in this week's DITI thread on the Photography Forum. Thanks very much for the loan and hopefully, a few more visitors came to your gallery.
