Description

Looking into the sun at the leading edge of the 40th Infantry Division Band of the California National Guard, captured 10/25/09, at the 8th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California. Please check it out full size. Original on top; postworked version on the bottom. Pick your favorite. Or maybe you prefer both. If you haven't noticed, the band leader is a female. She also acts as drill sergeant when they aren't marching. Tally-ho, and thankx for stopping by.

I actually didn't notice that the leader was a female! Go girl! I like the top one better Harry! :)

She's a lady drum major or drummy (in the British Army). We had a pipe band with a drum major where I went to collage...really a stirring group to have at the front of a parade. I vote for the second photo...more detail can be seen. Somewhat tough conditions...so sunny that you are either stuck with heavy shadows or a bit of overexposure... But Harry, you always produce! Fine collage.

It's a tossup for me. I do like the greater detail in the second, but I really like the shadows, and they show up better in the first. Definitely a lady, with a pretty profile and an Audrey Hepburn neck. Excellent shots!
