I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Wonderful image and postwork Carin! It brings back memories for me too, I used to live in New York City for awhile in 1962!

I stared at the image for quite a while before I thought to check what you'd written. It just didn't fit with my idea of what Afrika is like! LOL! It DOES, however, look just like Central Park. :D Excellent image, and I agree about the postwork ... it's perfect!

Okay...know how to tell this is New York City? See the black shute under the horses tail and the two buckets hanging from the front axel? Guess what they are for:-) Yup, you guessed it. No horse droppings on the streets of New York! Love this rare picture.

The only thing missing is the cobblestone street. A wonderful and nostalgic image. Interesting info from bmac62 but there goes the romance.

Jumpin' Jehoshaphat, Carin, if it wasn't for the clean sharp image, I would say this foto was snapped around the end of the 19th century! And the sepia tone adds to the effect. Simply stellar work, young lady! BTW, we're finally getting some much needed rain around here.

We have these traveling around our downtown area. You can rent one for only the old town section or you can get one that travels for a couple of miles through all of the historic areas, including a great deal of our downtown. I always get "taken away" when I see these carriages. Great shot and really perfect postwork.
