My name is Barbara and I'm retired and live in Hillsboro, Oregon. I'm a SNOB - a member of the Society of Native Oregon Born. I've lived in Oregon for almost my entire 65 years. The exception is the 18 month stint in Kansas while my husband got his Masters Degree at Kansas State.Â
I have a Canon SD200 and have only been taking pictures for the last couple of years. I got the camera so I could take pictures of my four grandsons, but I then discovered that I like taking pictures of other things as well. So it has been a fun two years of taking pictures.
Being a Grandma is the best thing ever.  My four grandsons are Jon who is 21 and has Cystic Fibrosis and is also a cancer survivor. His brother, Brad, is 15 and lives 7 minutes away. Joey is 11 and his brother Tim is 8, and they live in Portland, 40 minutes away.Â

This is gorgeous! (Gorge-ous?) Ummm ... okay, it's spectacular, too. :) I love the smoothness of the ice as the water froze over the rocks, in contrast to the frozen foam. A truly excellent image! It's good to see your work again, my friend. The cold weather has certainly created some beautiful ice formations, but I'm SO ready for it to warm up! They say by Monday night we should be headed back into the 40s.

This is very pretty, Barbara. It looks like giant frozen bubbles. And the blue color makes it look so cold.

I love it. Superb.

I adore Wakena Falls! I really like this shot but I have to wonder why on earth you would be around these falls in such bone chilling weather. Do you leave near the falls? If so, I'm sorry I missed you this past spring when I was there and hope to catch up with you the next time I'm visiting.

I love how the ice has formed over the rocks in this wonderful photo. There is some beauty to the cold after all. Great colours.
