Description
I've been trying to find out the meaning of the phrase 'a little bird told me'.
It seems that the exact origin is unknown, but here are a few popular theories:
1) Ecclesiastes 10:20 "for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter."
2) The Dutch phrase Er life t'el baerd "I should betray another."
3) The use of carrier pigeons to deliver messages.
If anyone has any better ideas please let me know!

I like Eccl 10:20, personally. However, various cultures have similar, but different sayings like that. One: The wind whispered it. Neat bird pic!

I have no idea of the origin,I just know that I like this shot a lot--his sweet little color against the hard gray is wonderful. I just kinda wonder just what he DID tell you!!

The carrier pigeon theory sounds the best bet to me. A great capture, showing how adaptable birds can be to their surroundings.

You know me, I like birds of all types:) Good job on this little guy and the background, even without the bird, is very interesting. Oh, and although I haven't anything new to add to where the saying came from...I favor the biblical reference but suspect the pigeon to be the most likely source.
