Description

This is part of Riviera (riverside)Paleocapa along the river Bacchiglione. During the Middle Ages it represented the southern boundary of Padova. From this point, the river, usually unruly and wild, was divided into two more civilized branches by the Venetians after the conquest of the town. The low tide shows the poles used to keep the banks firm and prevent them from collapsing. Here a number of ducks, geeze and seagulls, together with rats, mice and nutrias live in an ecological island. Even if the river, as I have already said, is polluted it looks that pollution makes them stronger. Along the riverside road there are the houses with the typical colors of my region, as well as the porches that once hosted shops and artisan workshops. The latter have disappeared from the economic fabric of the town, but in some parts of the town these mom-and-pop shops are still in relative good health. Thank you for your kind comments.

Sandra this is a splendid capture of your lovely area. The setting here is one of beauty and tranquility with the river so close to the town. I like the idea of some of the old time shops still working

the air... cool and crisp, remnants of fog, shrouded in the oncoming of winter... moisture, draw clothes closer to keep out the chill... seasons change, but seasons must change... beautiful capture!
