UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Oh gosh - I'll be sending you a load of images who's backgrounds need changing Bill! Excellent job my friend and a super image! :)

you are extremely clever!

Lots of work. Does this aircraft have two slim fuselages behind the engines, and a pilot/bomardier pod in between?

Nice editing Bill...!!!
jendellas
Wow Bill, that is great, what a difference!!!

Wheel spokes (like tram cables) are such a pain to pick out when you want to do a great and somewhat quick edit...but the work you've put into this is superb. The original picture is fabulous, and your tweaked version is just as wonderful, with a greater highlight on your subject. Amazing and meticulous editing work. Well done.

marvelous image, great exhibit!!!

oh you did very well, Bill, and yes it looks better without the background...
flavia49
super job!!! magnificent realization!!!

OMG, you meticulously postworked inbetween the struts and spokes to create this wonderful image, Bill! I also see a ton of cloning. I often have to employ this procedure when doing my outside aircraft and auto displays. Anything for the sake of art.

It really does make a difference when you take out all the extra background but it does take a lot of time. This plane really stands out now.

Astounding clean up job, glad I'm not the only one to suffer from "I'll just do this small bit,oh and then that...." syndrome :) Really excellent job on this Bill, just wondering, is it possible to replace what you remove with a different background an airfield for instance?, technically speaking...not asking you to do it.
lyron
Cool!!!!

They both look good, Bill. It's just a matter of preference. neiwill has a greta idea, but it sounds like a lot of work.

I can understand why you remove the background. I can be rather disturbing, but it is a really hard work to tube such an advanged capture, but I can see, you know, what you are doing. I hope you use a tablet for this kind of work :-D Well done. PS ! Thank you for all your kind comments to my Gallery :-D
