Description

Starry 'Tarrie' Ided grew up planetside, but ever since she was young, she wanted to travel the stars. Helping her dad work on ship drives and hulls since a young age as made her an excellent engineer. She's help him do everything from replacing jump drives to reworking hull plates. From rewiring power harnesses to repairing cargo handling equiptment. Troubleshooting communaction and computer network glitches, to completely rebuilding sensor arrays from scrap. The futherest she ever manage to get was high orbit working on ships that for what ever reason, could not land at her dad's refit yard. When she got older she started doing work on her own, troubleshooting for private outfits, assiting in repairs either beyond the abilities of the ship's engineer or more then they can do on their own. She even got to stand in for their Engineer's now and then when doing a shake down cruise of their systems, and though she did finally get to travel some, she never got far from her home star system and kept finding her way back. Try as she might though, she could not land a pertament job as ship's engineer. Then she landed a job with LSP, Ling Standard Products, doing Corporate troubleshooting in their Engineering division. A good job in which she finally started to get to travel even futher from home and see so much more, at least until she was injured in an job accident, cause by the stupidity of a Corperte Exec who believed he knew more then the flunkies could ever know. His word was law and the flunkies place was to obey the commands given them without question and be happy about it. After spending a year in medical she finds herself finally free and once again unimployed. With her choices limited she decides once again to try and gain a job as an ship's Engineer and she finds one. The Chief (and only) Engineer aboard an old falling apart junker of an Emperer Class Tramp Frighter. The job really tested her abilities with problems in just about every system. The ship shouldn't fly let alone past an inspection but like any run down tramp, it kept on going, working dispite the system wide problems. So now here she is, working long hard hours just to keep the ship in the sky and having the time of her life, usually. Here is a shot of her trying to trace down a faulty signal path on the bridge control repeaters she uses so she can work bridge shifts while not leaving the Engineering spaces. It should have been a simple and quick fix, replace the failing network processor with a good one but now the interanl comm units have shut down due to network interference so she resets the protocol's on the new network processor and what happens?, a control board for the air recycler blows as she reconnects the network bridge. So now she can monitor the sensor arrey bridge displays and sound an alert, but not breath. And she was so looking forward to taking some shore leave, all dressed up and ready to go. [sighs] The work never ends.
