Description

For explorers and researchers, the outer edges of settled space is the place to set up camp, and do the work you trained so long to achieve. It's not an easy life to be sure, and often requires a willingness to spend years with a small number of people for company. But it does offer its own rewards, and those unique individuals who thrive on that kind of life find excitement and beauty where few others wish to look. They are the pathfinders for the next wave, and they are always moving further out, as the explorers of the long past had done before them. ---------------- Space station was modeled and rendered in Bryce, using mostly my own textures. The planet was made in Photoshop, as was the stars in the background. Thanks for taking a look, everyone, and enjoy the holidays.

WOW! I look at a space station like this, or the ships in the distance and I wonder if the water 'cycler systems are up to snuff...there's nothing worse than being way out in the middle of nowhere (or at least the left lobe of nowhere) with gray-grade water working its way into the drinking stocks. Ah, but that's just me. What I like about your images is the way they evoke all of the things I tend to think about anyway. You're the kind of visual artist that sf writers love so much!

Great pic, and wonderful station! I really like this mesh, which is less "round-shapes-based".
