Because of our power outages, I couldn't finish my gift for dear Helle. I thought: Do I post nothing??? No: I'll post the UNFINISHED piece (& beg for understanding)! (Ahem) Dear Helle: I'm posting this unfinished drawing for your birthday---it's a hedge on a farm---because it's all I have so far! I added my usual space-cadet transformations (lol) but I'll finish & send it later---ok? In the meantime, enjoy its crazy cousins. They all say hello & happy birthday! Point blank, Helle's been one of the kindest, most supportive, wondrously giving, hysterically funny & terrific friends a person can have. And she's marvelously talented too! Just when you think you've seen what she can do--boom: She makes paintings out of meat sauce & coffee! She makes (deep breath) paintings, designs, photo-manipulations, montages, effortless-appearing drawings (some of us swear, she 'thought' them on the page, they're so natural), and her huge collection of photography (which got "Gallery of the Month" in Photography this month!). You don't know what a gift it is to have you in my life, Helle. And everyone who knows you & your "Woo-Hoo"s & terrific comments & joys & art, etc, etc, will agree. Finding someone like you is like finding a field of diamonds! Happy Birthday dear friend & thank you for all the elation you've given me since coming to Rosity! Many, many more in terrific health, and I hope the day will be joyous! (Eat some lagkage for me--I hear it's delicious!)

Say, I thought the holiday gift exchange was over until I opened this secret gem. My initial reaction...hmmmmm, very nice, 2nd reaction (2nd frame) was there's Mark in the light, 3rd reaction as I scrolled further down was, FANTASTIC, TALK ABOUT DEPTH OF FIELD, and my final reaction...Rising Sun! ...things only becaome more beautiful as the sun rises!!! Mark you've taken a wonderful person's birthday and turned it into a joyous explosion of expression. Happy Birthday Helle all the way from the frozen north of Kansas. you should see the amount of unfinished projects on my Hard disk I could finih them but I move so fast I take what I need and move on! but i would like to see the full work finished in this as it looks kinda cool!!

Mark my dear friend. You did it again. You have made a beautiful and graceful drawing and it looks complete to me. I love flowers and I really do love these kind of fences with flowers growing on them. I always found it fascinating. The variations over the drawing are fantastic. It feels like the sun is shining through the fence and flowers, on the first variation. The next one makes me feel, that I want to fly through the hole and in to the light. It has the most gorgeous depth an colors. It is taking me in. The last one is like a world living on pure energy of light. It is awesome. But I love them all. Them ALL. Thank you so much, Mark and thank you SO much for your wonderful words, even though I dont deserve a fragment of them :-D ..I just pretend I do and swallow them all raw. LOL! Thank you, Thank you :-D

WOW! What a fantastic gift!! Stunning! It just positively glows and sparkles and I just adore the second from the bottom, it DRAWS me into it, no it literally vacuums me into it! You have the gift of giving like few people I've ever known, or known of. From the unfinished drawing at the top (I'l take your word for it..) the image explodes in a wonderful celebration, not only of your friend's birthday, but of light and dynamic colour that radiates from within and pulsates outward. How you manage to capture such pure energy is truly a joy to experience. A stunning gift for Helle that all of us can bathe in and be a part of... Thank you!

I love what you did to your unfinished artwork, all of your pictures vary so much and from the one unfinished artwork, which is amazing!! ahem, long time not spoke, mark :) and after my very private christmas massacre is over (all of family were here, all! LOL (i had to think often to one of my favourite sketches of yours 'the visitors who came and never left)) now that life slowly becomes normal again, i find myself with an empty fridge and a slight disorder in my head :) never the less, i dont want to complain, of course yes, i was happy to see most of them after all this time! and i missed helle's bday entirely this year, but honestly, i miss so much lately and this has to come to an end. what a gorgeous colourful play for her, look at all these bright and beautiful elements in there. uplifting, absolutly delightful it is, mark, and so very fitting for our helle 'helanker' the viking! i know i'm late but here is a belated happy birthday helle, hope your day was brilliant! most beautiful done, mark, and of course, a very happy and most wonderful 2010 for you, stay happy and healthy :)
