Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Let's see one, two, three...nineteen, twenty...nope, I can't count all those individual pilings. But they look great in your B&W photo. Isn't it neat to explore B&W...you are doing more of it these days and very well.

WOW! What wonderful DOF! I love the perspective and the regular geometry...it looks like a temple that's been flooded...or maybe a half-submerged temple to some watergoddess with a penchant for pillars. At any rate, I love this image and this is a place I want to see for myself! Fantastic!

Excellent image, like a doorway into another reality.

Excellent B/W work here

Terrific! How amazing that there is little or no growth on these pilings!

I am fascinated by piers for the perspective sense and I think it inspired me as a student in school to pursue art. too bad I stopped doing art by hand

This works very nicely in B&W with super DOF. I'm beginning to worry about how much time you spend under piers??? :>) Dana
