UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Not the sort of baubles to hang on your Christmas tree. I also see a 'broomhandle' Mauser...one of my favourite handguns. Great capture Bill, and Happy Birthday Harry.

This is really astonishing...there are so many different realities and layers of reality in this image. The reflections are quite intriguing, and the people in the background are nicely mysterious...if you look at this and shift your focus around the guy in the baseball cap and the woman seem to exist simultaneously as solid people AND reflections. The lighting is wonderful and quite complex, it's shimmery here and there, and in other places it's rich with color! This is a gorgeous image and an intriguing topic. It makes me recall a performance piece/song by Laurie Anderson in which she asks: "Que es mas macho, Pineapple or knife?" I remember liking that particular piece because Pineapple is a pun for grenade--which I'm sure you knew. But it's not every day puns like that pop up in music written and performed by a woman with a hairdo that looks like a startled hedgehog. Great work! This is a perfect birthday gift/dedication, and a wonderful marker for the impending new year!

Stellar birthday greeting from one of my close friends on Renderosity, Bill! Late or not, it is appreciated beyond the comprehension of most mortals. That's quite a myriad of grenades on display at the museum. They look like little copper balloons floating about. I remember practicing with some of these beauties while in camp in Louisiana. BTW, just remember to thrown the grenade after you've pulled the pin. I like the "potato masher" type hand grenades used by the Germans in WWII. Is that a GI entombed in the glass case? And, I'm often reminded of the rapidly declining number of veterans from the Greatest Generation.
