UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

first, though he won't see it because of the late date, happy birthday harry by all means! And many more! As for the picture, it's a melange of worlds colliding into worlds, and the hand grenades are like fruits hanging in the balance. (In fact, you probably knew it, but "grenade" was named after "pomegranite," the fruit. So fruit isn't totally inappropriate...) You always do wonderful things with museum angles & sweeps & especially lighting, and in this picture it's like you allowed many pictures to just marinate over night until they became one. it's hard to tell whether this grenade belongs to this statue, or it's from another place...a wonderful mix & match of imagery; and the grenades in this setting are almost ornaments hanging from a tree. Also nice use of zig zag diagonals---presumably the walls zig zagging in front of the glass or behind it: It gives diagonal motion to the whole piece. Really, this is as much graphic and light-painting as photography, and shows your intensifying journey into those realms with each new day. Also, the peek into spectators (through the "door" in the reflections) is a wonderful reminder that this is a museum. And the hat & statues just continue the feeling of collage. Keep up this work, you're becoming a real designer of light & image, and it's really really paying off. And finally, this image transforms what is originally a weapon of war into a strange new ornament of art. That's a very positive transformation, which has to have meaning to all who served in that greatest generation. My uncle says too that the veterans are getting fewer, which is why we have to honor them all the more. (He was in Anzio and France, etc.) Love the image, and a very happy birthday to our Harry once more!

Great shot of WWI equipment. That broom handle Mauser and trench club are real artifacts to go along with the variety of grenades - a coupl of whihc look home made!
