Description
Just saw the movie "Troja" on TV which inspired me to try a version of it in Terragen ;-)
Well, this is what came out of it (full size looks better).
Terrain made in Terrabrush, atmo and surface in Terragen 0.9.43 free version. The fire is a volumetric fire I took from one of my Bryce renders, added and edited in Picture Publisher, as well as some light reflexes, frame and text.
I'm not sure yet if I really like it, but at least the ruins are burning just like the old year! ;-)
Your comments are very much appreciated as always.
I wish you all that you wish for a
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

like the colors and flames and smoke - I think you captured the feel of a very hot large fire all right.

@all who left comments: Thanks a lot for your good wishes for 2010, and I hope you're all fine! As for this image - the more often I see it, the less I like it, first of all in the small version. The flames are too big, the clouds too small, the POV is poor and the surface doesn't fit for this atmo. Oh well... ;-) I'll try to do better in 2010! @Christian: Der hatte zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits das Zeitliche gesegnet - Helden sterben halt nunmal jung! ;-)

Excellent image and atmo! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Really wicked fire. Looks like it's burning down a forest. The 3D clouds give a nice smoky volume effect.
