Description

Once in a blue moon---how many times have we heard or used that phrase? It's really not that rare, happens every so often. Tonight, however, it's cloudy here, the wind's blowing and we're in for a big storm. I don't get to see that blue moon for real---so I made my own!!

Brilliant! We had quite a bluish full moon first thing this morning but I was too sleepy to get the camera!

What a good idea! Another fun aspect of digital photography...if you really need something...just add it. You know, I would have been happy to loan you a moon of mine...ha, ha, ha..., sorry, this sounded a whole lot more funny to me after I typed it. I meant a real photo...nothing else. Honest:)

I took stunning pics of the Blue Moon Marilyn! It was partially cloudy which gave me a spooky look. We also had a partial eclipse but that waqs early before the moon rose above the trees in my yard so I missed taking a pic of that too! great image! :))

lol, bill. I knew what he meant, lol...I love the saturated blues & the inner lights shining in the lighter blues, it's about blue light, blue light, blue light. And the silhouetted tree is perfect next to the big bright moon. It's Japanese in its simplicity, and it's just right. I always love it when you create with photos. You always come up with intuitive & beautiful work. And it's right for the end of the year too, because of the light in the darkness. Love it.

How did I miss this? Really, how did I miss this!? Anyway, here I am, looking at it and really liking it. This reminds me more of a poster than a "normal" photograph; it has that poster-like quality, which means that it would make a really nice print. The colors are so pure and so simple and that adds to the effectiveness for me. Simple colors: Black, White, Blue, and nothing more. That's a stroke of genius if you as me, because you've pared everything down to the essentials while at the same time making us stop and think and not just say "Oh that's nice" and then move on. Your art always installs pauses in life though, which is what great art does...it makes you stop, catch your breath and go, "hey, was that always there?" You do that so well! I like your moon, it's very stylized and I wouldn't have guessed it was a moon implant rather than the actual thing. You're good!
