Description

I was looking thru some of my old foto files and found this one. It was Easter Sunday, walking along the Arcata, Ca, marsh. These are godwits--a common shore bird in this area. There's even a weekend celebration in the spring called Godwit Days--anything for a party!!

Marbled Godwits are supposed to be all around Florida and in 9 plus years, I still have not seen a single one. So a Super capture on your part and a whole flock at that. :>) Dana

I love birds when they flock together like this. Of course, knowing birds, when I read the title to this piece, I thought: Birds of a feather poop together. My mind goes off in weird directions at times. What I really like about massed birds like this is the fact that this image looks like you stumbled across a convention attended by commas and apostrophes...for some reason they DO look like punctuation marks to me. I love it when images trigger that kind of association because they're so engaging. What a wonderful photo!
