for me the start of the new year is always somewhat chaotic, it still has to take shape. hope it takes the right shape for all of you!

Geordende chaos is ook orde en dat is hier zeker het geval. Prachtig werkstuk om een nieuw jaar mee te beginnen. Een deel van de achtergrond vermoed ik een Apophysis flame te zijn.

this is really stunning, I agree with tara & others; and the more I study it, the more I see that you've illustrated your theme in the most complex ways. Is your text from the famous "lorem ipsum", used to fill text in layouts? (Boy does that bring back memories!) It's the only thing I can get out of it, lol, though maybe you have other words in there. But if it is the filler, it's just great! Because it's a filler until we fill in the substance ourselves. That is wonderful thinking, Koosie. And you've faded some of it, so that it looks like it's still coming into being. Then, "Chaos" is chiseled like it's inscribed in marble--which is a great contrast for "chaos". And your fractal-like shapes are like lights converging, but they also seem like marble: part of the "coming into being" motif. This is a brilliant conception, Koosie, I love the earthen hues around it, and it's the best new year's greeting I've seen in a long time. 500 stars. Quia dolor sit amet consectetur to you too, fratello! May you have a splendrous New Year!

hello koosie again, as you already know, my year started with an empty fridge and some quite chaotic moments here and then, with all the family around, not to speak of all the funny little misunderstandings :) i love your play with this idea, esp. how you faded the typo with this wonderful background, the golden tones are beautiful too! and another happy new year :)

Chaos...according to ancient Egyptian lore, the god Re (often spelled Ra) was self created and emerged from the "mud of chaos" and upon His first gimmerings of consciousness, screamed in terror. Chaos is like that and leave it to the ancient Egyptians to come up with a myth like that...oh, later on Re (Ra) did some rather um...naughty biological things that we won't discuss in polite company, but suffice it to say, this image reminds me of that primordial myth. The words themselves are an imposition of order, and they themselves imply chaos as if it lies at the root of all creation. Perhaps it does, as a vital moving force, something that keeps things alive and I love feeling that as I look at this. It's gorgeous work, and it's making a trip into my favorites as well. And though its belated, Happy New Year to you, and I hope that things are going well AND looking up.
