Wonderful sunny Shots all 4, Mark. You have in Chicago something amazing. All the iron fences. I love iron fences, Only, I say poor doggies. They cannot even snif a bit to the trees there, And You people would have to wade on the dog poo, because the dogs cant come to the trees and do their business. Ok, Seriouasly I think these shots are really excellent, clear and crispy. Well done Mark. :) And a Happy and Healthy New to you too, my friend.

It all looks so civilized! The street sweeper goes round the cars where I live, you can easily tell who never goes out. It seems your road is not swept in the winter, mmm!

You live in a neighborhood where I find myself trying to see around and through the trees to fully appreciate the stately buildings there. The trees on the other hand seem to be elbowing their way back in front of your camera saying, here, shoot us first, don't pay attention to those lifeless piles of bricks. So, to me there is the tension between nature and human engineering here that adds to these four photos. And like the real estate people say, location, location, location...in your photos it is composition, composition, composition. And you've got it Mark. Cool...

Mark it surely seems you have chosen your neighborhood wisely as it is exactly the place I would picture you living. It is a beautiful area that seems to be so peaceful and in tune. Even though it is in town with cars everywhere you don't get the feeling of it all closing in and there is enough of nature around with many trees in sight. The rod iron railing adds a sense of style and security to these nice scenes

I place that just calls to be walked--that empty sidewalk speaks to me -- as it did when I was there. Those old neighborhoods are so wonderful, people out and about, even when it's cold. Your fotos are wonderful, you share with us YOUR world and how you see it. So, if you'll excuse me, I'm outta here, gotta get my walking shoes on and go see what there is to see today!!

I love your neighborhood, as you well know, and would be happy to return for another morning of photography! These shots are all splendid. I keep looking at them over and over, trying to choose which I like best. (What is it about being confroned with multiple images that makes us feel like we have to like one more than the others?) Our Friday morning tour caused me to fall head over heels in love with your neighborhood, and these images take me back there. In my mind's eye, though, it will always be a fabulously beautiful September day in Chicago.

It's the Victorian look that your neighborhood retains despite all the changes that I love. The fences that keep the poor doggies from the trees (as helanker immediately noticed, grins)are just marvelous. My doggies would be just happy sniffing the fences and peeing on EACH little bit of each fence. The play of sunlight in each picture is marvelous. You take me on such a beautiful tour. May your New Year be a magical and creative one. May all the troubles and problems of the old year stay with the old year, and my your new year be free of all troubles and problems. May joy be in each of your days.

A lovely montage of where you live. Looks like there are a lot of interesting things to observe and photograph. Hoping you always walk this path in peace. CC

Unlike Tara, I don't feel compelled to choose a favourite, but rather see each image as part of a whole... Great shots, all, and a super collage echoing the peace of the neighbourhood before it is fully awake (a bit like me) I think I like the third the best, or maybe the fourth, or.... :o))

and they are gorgeous and beautifully melancholic, they just pull me in and make me want to have a walk there. these muted tones in the last 2 ones, i just love them, they make me curious. yet they have this slight melancholic mood, just a glimpse, so it appears to me. i havnt seen all of your photos mark, havnt had the time until now, but, from what i have seen these are quite my favourite favourites, if i can say so, just beautifully thoughtful atmosphere and mood :) happy new year btw. LOL :)

Frigid conditions revealed in this collage of stark and quasi silhouetted photographs, Mark, with great perspective and contrasts all the way down the line.
