Description

I got bored when our connection went down for a bit and stared playing with my photos. I liked the result of this so I decided to post it. This is Granite Quarry Park in Montello Wisconsin. It's just a few miles from the Dells and the town borders Buffalo Lake. This is the very quarry that the granite used on both Ulysses Grant and Robert E. Lee's tombs where made from. I turned it into a negative, tweaked the color, and added a full moon. I hope you like it. Today and tomorrow I am wondering through the galleries and ebots. Things have finally slowed down a bit. Thank you for stopping by. Love and peace, Cheri

Post work is so much fun! I'm trying to get Corey hooked on it, but that's gonna take some doing! Anyway, enough of that...what I really wanna say is that this is a fantastic piece of work. I love the fact that it looks more like a painting, despite its obvious photographic origin. I like the sort of discontinuity between the bright landscape and dark sky. This reminds me of some of the more stylized science fictional artwork that I loved in my wee-little-child years--those were also the days that I decided that I was going to be the first astronaut from Chicago. Well...that was before I decided that I was going to be a harpist (though I never learned to play the harp.) And that was somewhere around the time that I was going to be an anthropologist, which was around just after (or was it before?) the time I'd decided to be a movie director. But anyway, regardless of that really long ramble, I adore this piece of work. It's a brilliant tweak and I love the information you included as well. I hope to see more of your play time, though hopefully it doesn't come because of an internet outage. This is fantastic.
