Bathed in the moonlight
her eyes suffused with tears
lamenting on times past
where her body was pressed
not against a rough rugged
tree of worm infested bark
but against a warm body
smooth and full of fresh life
The moon shone brightly this night
as the stars danced high above
each reaching out their light to her
from years past,
now long dead
their light finally reaching her tears
How many times she has wished
and now that her wish has come to pass
the moment has passed
and she finds herself wishing
and pleading once again
