Description
Clock is ticking , its nearly 2am
the cars outside the window have no clue
as they pass by on the street
that inside this empty room, I sit crying
The sound of the motors roar
in their
"God Shes gonna kill me"
"Im gonna get grounded"
"I shoud have stopped for gas"
"Does my hair still look ok?"
"I wonder what his name was"
MINDS
covers my sobs that fall
to the pavement below
where their tires leave tracks
in their passing
Tears hit the window sill
leaving a puddle by my hand
the one holding the knife with teeth
ready to taste my blood
One tear for love
Two tears for longing
Three tears for fear
Four tears for not belonging
Five tears for insecurity
Six tears for shame
Seven tears for heart ache
Eight for losing the game
Nine tears for guilt
Ten tears for trying
Eleven tears for misunderstanding
Twelve tears for dying.....
Seventy eight tears in a puddle
by my hand on the sill
a semi truck rolls through
with a half awake driver
humming along with the radio
"I could have missed the pain
but I'd have missed the dance....."
Vibrations shaking the building
send my puddle plunging to the pavement
where my sobs continue to be hit
by passing motorists in the darkness
I wonder
will it be morning
before they notice
the blood on their tires?
