I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I never really realized, until I came here the last # of days, how powerful you are at handling color, shade, and the texture of light itself. Your postwork, or work with lenses, settings in the camera, etc, is very painterly: You create rich modulated surfaces, you're very strong with upper & lower sky hues (and how they morph in & out of each other through that center silky gray), the bay itself with its signal reds and almost unreal detail on the ground--unreal only because, in this kind of light, one would expect rocks, pier, etc to be a bit blurred; but you're brought them out with real clarity and they're eye-opening--and a melange of blues & blue-greens morphing across the water from top to bottom. And your uppermost sky blues are luminous too...I wonder if you've painted before, even digitally: It's in you if you haven't. This image has a painterly presence, a small step beyond the threshhold; and the light suggests an inner vision as much as outer, with your love of the place seeming to illuminate it as much as the sun or your camera. I hope that made sense...it's a beautiful dream of a capture, with a tinge of transcendence.

This is postcard perfect, only more engaging than a postcard. What colors! I love that linear crop you're presenting as well...it just pulls the eye from left to right or from right to left. And as you know, flash pretty colors in front of me and I'm like a cooing baby, and wow! Those colors are rich and gorgeous! Wonderful work. I love this!
