I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Stark but powerful capture. B&W works for this shot and bring on the seals. Dana

This is lovely; elegant and serene, and a really dynamic shot!

Man alive...this is very good. Like yesterday's upload of Walvis Bay, this has a softness to it that just draws me right in. Now, the rocks aren't soft but they are barely visible allowing the eye to go right to the crosses and the low, puffy clouds. Composition is spot on IMHO.

Sometimes formulating a goal brings the necessity for a plan and once a plan is in motion, completion takes place. Feeling complete is the most valuable feeling we can obtain and brings serenity and happiness. Self-worth comes from achieving your goals. It all starts with making one decision and acting on it. :-) Lovely shot.

I like it. Carin Lift your head and shoulders. Yes there is many potholes on the road that wants us to be without hope, but we must stand up and continue on the road. I am glad you got such a message of hope from Chip. As i am glad that you are feeling better Carin. God Bless

Fabulous black and white image. The effect is probably deliberate but they look like two sentinels watching over the sea perhaps waiting for the good captain to return? I didn't know you were feeling down. I hope things are better for you.

Spectacular view! I like the black and white choice and the point of view with a large space for the sky!

Chip always deserves our celebration: A lovely vision for his deep sensitivities...Your large looming sky is just right for a shot like this, and the darkening towards the top makes it heavier than ground itself. The crosses stand in lone desolation, and speak to the ages...A fitting message for Chip, who does the same. And a dark silken photograph as well...

What a wonderful image. This is gorgeous! Aside from our friendship, Dierbaar, you are just the most phenomenal photographer!
