Description

Captured back on 5/23/09, I know not what time or place. Better viewed full size. And, although it may look it, this is not a black & white foto; it's still in the color format. It just happened to be a dank and dour day when I shot it. Tunde was wondering why I was always showing taillights in lieu of headlights in my postings. I suppose it is an ongoing game of give and take with taillights between Andrea and myself. I do have many headlight fotos in my files, so I'll try to balance it out between the front and rear lights from now on. Angled strokes filter used in picture #1, glass in #2, omni light in #3, smudge stick in #4, and the original in #5. I tried to ignore him, but over at the lower right of the image is the reflection of a time-traveler Neanderthal, interested in what I was doing. Tally-ho, and thankx for popping in.

Not sure of the make and model of the car here, but my first impression was it reminded me of a sharks eyes. Cool work my friend.

Nice way to fill Tunde's request Harry. I know why we don't do a lot of headlights...they just lack color to shake us up. Collage and filters are well done.

LOL...Harry you funny and thanx for the front approach to the matter. No2 and No4 is a winner. I agree with Bill but what about a blinker/indicator...it is got a color.

lol, I've shot one car only: my dad's, and that was because it was for you! I wonder how you & Andrea shoot carlights as the owner peeks out or others walk by wondering what you're doing. Talk about "ninja"! But anyway, I never thought about head as opposed to tail lights, but I'm beginning to see there's a difference. Your original is a complex photo, with the milky and cloudy and clear light that accompanies such shots, and with the subtle grain that I found accompanies closeups of car chrome. (I have no idea why it does, but it does.) It really does make an abstract. And that "neanderthal"? I suppose he figures you're spying, so why shouldn't he, lol? Then your variations: It's a really nice bunch harry, organized in contrasts: The 1st & 3d having the most tonal variety, while 2 & 4 are more dramatic & contrasted. So much in these lights, and you & Andrea are so devoted to finding it. (If there are others, I'm just speaking from my own limited travels through the galleries.) And yes, I see the color & I love when color is taken over by the lighting of the day & transformed into a quiet sepia. A fine montage, and more of why I say you have an abstract artist in you. How could one see these and think otherwise?

I think I like #4 the best because all the parrelel lines show up so nicely there. They are all great! Is that a spider I see at the bottom? Great shots! Thanks for your kind wishes. I just want to go burn some trees! Of course, all they'd have to do is throw some pollen my way and they'd do me in before I got close to them. Sigh. Never mind, eh? This too will pass.

Nice array of treatments; I think I like it best untreated, though, it has beautiful lines!
