years back I knew a few glass artists, and it was magic to see them mold the glass into works of art; and what struck me was that their work was to be placed in the strangest places imaginable. We never thought they would 'work' where they were intended; but whenever we saw them installed, it was magic! But that's the art, I want to talk about the shots: These are good shots as shots (forgetting about the glass sculptures), fascinating angles and reflections, and just plain strange looking creatures (I know they're birds but really they're "glass" birds and that's what makes them so other worldly). I suppose installations like these call out for photographs, but most of the photos I see are about the art and not about the photograph---which is fine, but these are about the photographs. They just 'happen' to be about the glass art. Very nice shots of very strange creatures; and I like that you gave us two versions as well. it's nice to see them and just wonder what they are. (Your photographs are photographs first, so we can do that. If they were showcases for the art, it would be much harder.)
