Description

Mars has a tilt of its axis and a rotation period similar to the Earth and therefore knows the four seasons and a similar day length. His year, however, is almost two times longer than the Earth and its eccentricity is considerably larger: the duration of the different Martian seasons is completely different and the apparent solar time is more likely to diverge from the mean solar time on Earth . Martian day [edit] The duration of Martian sidereal day is 24 h 37 min 22.663 s and that of the Martian solar day is 24 h 39 min 35.244 sec (or precisely 88 775.24409 s, often called "ground"). The corresponding values for Earth are respectively 23 hr 56 min 4.2 s and 24 h 0 min 0 s (86 400 s). A Martian day is therefore only 2.75% longer than an Earth day. Correspondence [edit] To give you an idea, 36 days (solar) Martians are about to land 37 days with a lag of 14 minutes 51 seconds. More precisely 109 days on Mars correspond to 112 Earth days with a lag of 4 minutes 58 seconds. More precisely 291 days on Mars correspond to 299 Earth days with a lag of 0 minutes 4 seconds. from WIKIPEDIA, Free encyclopedia !

Wow, fantastic image! The surface of the Red Planet. Already there are colonizations there. I see they have built bubbles, Eco-Systems to make survival easier until such a time as rehabilitation of the atmosphere is possible.
