Fine perspective in this shot, Bill, and I see only a little distortion. Kinda scary seeing that Junkers Ju 87 Stuka heading my way, but the Supermarine Spitfire should make short work of it. Looks like a rear engined Boeing on the right.

yeah (on Harry), I'm not sure it's distortion as just the unreal lighting of museum spaces. I think once you build a museum, you import "museum air" which feels cloistered and does strange things to color & form. To me it feels like an underneath-museum capture, and the distortions seem to come with the territory. (I can't comment on the lens, since I'm beginning at those things. I do see a little grain or similar, but I assume that comes with wide lens or similar shots. There, you'd have to correct me...) Sweeping & glittery, and your composition ends with a lovely open portico, and starts with a prop plane looking down on us like a cartoon plane smiling its ___ off. A great front capture! And I'm really curious: A modern jetliner & an old locomotive on opposite sides of the hall? Is this an introduction hall? (It looks like a gift shop for reeeeeeealllllllly large human beings.) (who have tons of money...) A glittery big toy shop & lots of fun. I take it you don't need to postwork much on shots like these: The light & glitter seem to speak a language all their own.

I zoomed, and then I had to duck! I like that one in the front ... the one that's about to take my head off with the prop ... it's got teeth! I looked for the pitot tubes, but they must all be on the other side. Can you turn this around for me? :P

I guess that was a grin on a Stuka that many did not want to see - ever! Great wide angle lens, Clive

Cool shot Bill! Interesting adaptation.. You get most of the museum in that shot! Sadly! Great excitement going and stunning looking around the U-boat! Jaw dropping! Some good stuff in here.. The stuka! REALLY cool... BUT, unfortunately, the rest of the museum that I could see was aimed at the under 14 year old!!!! Sad! But a cool shot Bill none the less.... Rob.

Excellent. Umm, there appears a problem under the the jet as though a support column moved. Can't quite make it out.

trains, planes and ... Oh wait I don't see any automobiles but there must be some if it is a transportation museum... Great capture!! I tried to push that snow back to you but it got here before I could.. lol its cold but beautiful. If I can get out of my very steep driveway I will try to get some shots, the city cleared our neighborhood roads this morning but they missed doing my drive way for me lol..

A great way to get all these planes into one shot. The distortion along the sides gives this an out of this world feel, and also that the little planes are really flying around. Excellent colours in this 'action' caption.

My son used to make these from balsa wood, as a hobby and then painted them, only to hang them up from all the lightfittings, just like this...well almost ! interesting capture & memories return, thanks for sharing. Cheers BB

What an image! I love the POV and the way you capture the scale of everything. I remember my childhood love of flying things: primarily passenger jets: I wanted a 747 all to myself, when I was 5, and well...now I want a 777, just because they have legroom. But anyway...that's a ramble. This is a gorgeous photograph and I love the reflectivity along the belly of the 727. IS that a 727? I'm rusty on my planes. At any rate: wow...fantastic work. This is yet another of your wonderful aeronautic photographs. Great colors, great details, wonderful sense of actually being there...and I recognize this as the Museum of Science and Industry, and I can virtually hear the coal mine whistle in the background, and smell the hot waxy plastic stuff that could always be pressed/extruded into toys (Usually an Abe Lincoln bust or a space capsule, or something.) Great work.

I went the museum when I was stationed at glakes in 1974. That was when the U-505 was outside. I returned back in the late '80's to go to a corporate school. It's changed a lot. The spats and leggings on the main gear are missing. Possibly an early or license built model. Looks like a 727 or DC-9 on the right.

Look out, Bubba, here she comes! I'm so glad that your museum pics, and Rob's, turned out as mine did not. This one shows why everyone must visit the Musuem of Science and Industry in Chicago!
