"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

My question is: what was it? Squirrel, chipmunk? It slowed down... or the snow got deeper! Very interesting, Clive
Rainastorm
LOL That is to cool...I love that. Excellent capture Bill...hehe

Must have been squirrels. I can see them leaping, just looking at this! That's a lot of snow! Brrrrr! Stay warm ...

Your garden looks so clean!

You look to have had a lot of snow. These prints make a great pattern and prove guilt too. I hope you are warm.

Nice shot, and love how your yard meets such a nice wooded area. Great for the animals and birds.

Terrific lighting to emphasize the stitching effect across the snow, Bill! Have you any idea as to the identity of the perpetrator who created these strange tracks?
jocko500
wonderful looking with the tracks

You had a visitor. Sure wasn't rabbits as they leave prints that look like they were drunk and couldn't follow a straight line. Cool capture.
CoreyBlack
You had multiple visitors, and I think they had fluffy tails and those expressions on their faces seem to say: "Hey, what are you looking at? Of course I'm cute, now go away, I'm eating." Hmmm...maybe I've been encountering Chicago squirrels too much.
danapommet
I'm guessing squirrels also since all tracks lead to the tree that leads to the food. Cool shot in any case Bill. Dana

everyone is saying squirrels but wow Okay those are some big squirrels then haha I guess because you feed them so well. And I finally got outside today and I had some similar paw prints in my yard little bitty ones like bunny rabbits and you asked about my classes they are over until the first of next month and then I am also going to sign up for a seminar with Nikon in either North Carolina or Texas, I want to do the one in North Carolina but I-40 is out right now and for probably the next 6 months due to a rock slide and there is another highway that I could take so we will see. But I am really looking forward to that class. Have a good night...

Excellent capture of these tracks Bill see thats what happens when you leave food out in snowy conditions lol.. Well done!!

What a wonderful shot. Great comments too. I see that Corey commented before me and well...yeah...the squirrels in his neighborhood are a bit shamelessly surly...I think they're actually carnivorous. Enough of that, though. I love this shot. You've used the light of the day amazingly and I love the neatness of the tracks. It looks cold though. Beautifully lit but not warm, but that's okay too because your image is rich and for some reason, I imagine myself having shoveled snow (a strangely relaxing chore) shortly before retiring indoors to enjoy hot cocoa with a hint of hazelnut while looking out at the back yard, or settling before the keyboard to pound out at least a page of something involving odd characters, or curling up with a good book only to realize that the cat has claimed it as a pillow. I love it when a single image sparks these associations, and this is an association-sparking image for me if ever there was one! Great work.

What worries me is that it is an uneven number!! So one of them who came - never left???? deep frown lol... Great image Bill and I love the fun!

great winter picture!!
anahata.c
squirrels? When I first looked---given the bird feeding bowl---I thought, "Man, those are big freakin' birds!" (If those were birds, I'd suggest gettin' outa town!) Love the tracks in the snow, and the pattern, and the snippet of the bird bowl, and the little forest behind your yard. And is that a dog pen in the back left? I can't tell. I hope no one's using it during the winter. Brrrrr's right. It's a cold image. Delightful, Bill. A real winter delight.

You cant take this to the court.... The guilty one is gone.....
