I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Ohhhhhhh ... the colors are just gorgeous! Such a fine image, and that little splash makes it perfect. When you go back, my heart will be there with you.

This is such a peaceful capture. I could sit there and think for hours just listening to the waves. Dana

carin, you do wonderful things with skies & water, you paint with them & make the sky a sheet of mysterious hues (like a painting by the American painter Mark Rothko). They call us. Your water is a highly textured blanket, and you climax it with a wall of boulders and that sharp focussed splash. A really fine work! You move from a mysterious sky to a wholly focussed foreground. Three completely different areas & a fine 'symphony' together. (Carin, here are three Rothkos at random. Click on them---2 of them should open larger. He made "rectangles" the way you capture skies: In person, these are very large and you get lost in the deep undulating areas; and his edges remind me of your photography---rich spreading edges that melt into each other...They're here, here, and here.)

I couldn't agree more, it really is a fabulous layered look and well ... the title just had to be, just to applaud that little splash for added interest. Superb photography againd Carin, very well done!! hugs Jane xx

Splashes don't like to cooperate, so I suspect you have splash-whispering capabilities...I also love the intense colors in this. They don't bleed or seem oversaturated in any way whatsoever, but they're rich and wonderfully subtle in the ways that they interact with each other. You have a great eye and sense of timing and as always, I'm incredibly glad to see this.
