A work in progress! Hi! My name is Melinda. I am happily married to the love of my life and we have a daughter who is in college. I live in Southern California and I am an amateur photographer. My husband bought me my Kodak P880 for Christmas in 2006. I looked at it and thought I'd never figure it out! I've only taken regular every day snapshots and never looked through the lens in a "creative" way. Then in March 2007 someone introduced me to Renderosity.  In May, I became brave and decided to upload my first photo... I haven't been able to put my camera down since! LOL. I still have a lot to learn, but I sure am having fun doing it. I have come a long way though. This time last year, I couldn't even put a photo on the computer! Now I have started to research DSLR cameras ... Who knows what the future brings! Update: I now have that DSLR :) Was the best Christmas (2008) gift!   I did the research and picked it out and Santa put it under the tree. It's a Canon Rebel Xsi .

I have a new DSLR, the Canon 7OD. A gift from my husband for Mother's Day. So much to explore!

This is really funny... both in an odd way and in a humorous way. In the middle of nowhere and what a strange combination of presidents to see in a group. Fun shot. (Is that supposed to be Old Spindletop behind them?)

WOW how odd is this.. lol and I can't wait to see the Mount Rushmore photos, my mom was from South Dakota, they then moved to California, but we went as a family twice to visit and I have some very special memories of that trip such a beautiful area to visit. I sure would love to get back up there some day.. Happy 400th by the way!! wooo hoo

Gosh, I guess they can't afford to carve the faces of these modern presidents into Mt Rushmore along with Abe Lincoln, George Washington, and Teddy Roosevelt. The alabaster white of this setup contrasts well against the broken clouds in the background, Melinda. Is that an oilwell back there?

This is surreal. It's like a landscape out of one of those creepy dreams that isn't a nightmare but isn't happy and friendly either. How weird! It seems like this is in the middle of nowhere and so it has this kind of X-Files quality and I keep expecting Mulder and Scully to come around and realize that the bust of Reagan is actually a shape-shifting vampire or something. Great, surreal work.
