Description

Late on the afternoon our little group visited Seattle we took a stroll through Pike Place Market. The place sits on Elliott Bay and has been in business since 1907. It is one of the oldest continually operated public farmers' markets in the United States. I think it sells just about everything but auto parts, but I could be wrong about the auto parts. The real star for us was the produce and fresh fish markets. Mrs. Sevilla was particularly taken with one place selling fish. A Korean gentleman behind the counter warned her in english and spanish to stand back or one of the fish might bite her. As if on que one of the larger fish slid down the icy display table towards her and scared the poor woman out of five years growth. Did you ever notice how the fish always look so surprised?

Very funny about the sliding fish! That big orange one looks both surprised and irritated. Very interesting place! I wonder if there is a reason that the guy from the produce doesn't want his likeness taken. Great images and composition.

Les marchés regorgent d'étallages où s'étallent la diversité (produit, lumière, couleur, bruit, odeur) du monde - Excellent collage

Wonderful collage. It looks like a great place! And the story is funny. I haven't heard that expression "scared out of 5 years growth" in a long time. :-)

What a superb presentation. I love the lighting, it really brings out the details in a warm and appealing light. As always your story adds the crowning touch with a funny twist. Fish have surprised looks because they don't expect to be plucked out of their environment. I'd have a surprised look too.

Wonderful pictures of the Market! I love wandering around down there, although I'll admit it's hard for me to pass by the vendors selling silver.
