Description

I captured this golden grass next to the Vaal River in the Vredefort Dome. I was never happy with the image but tonight I played around with some filters and got a better result! The sky is still too washed out to my liking but at least the grass shows off a little better. Well, I liked it enough to upload - so here we go! the movement from dark to light (bottom to top) is part of this image's power, but it's also from the abyss (bottom) through detail (middle) to abyss again (top). But for me it's most beautiful in the color range, from ambers to golds to those deep blue-greens (a total switch) to the empty sky. A fine photo painting, with real light in the center. Quite beautiful.
