Description

Well it was Florida, what're ya gonna do... And thank you everyone for your wonderful words & support for my friend Carl. It meant the world to me, and to his family who saw all you wrote. All our thanks, from the bottom of our hearts. And finally, welcome back Koosie! I wish you all the healing in the world, and send strength to you & wonderful Karin, who's supported you through it all. (And to Kruimeltje too, great dog.) We're all with you: Get well soon!
* * * I'm away now, and still have a few galleries to go: I promise to finish them all tonight. Our hearts & donations go out to the victims of Haiti: May the sunlight dawn on them too after this terrible catastrophe... Peace, Mark (Some contrast & touch-ups, PS)

Wow... Lush as paradise and we know it's not Chicago! I love the sweeping curve that leads our eye around the corner and makes us all want to BE THERE! Yep. I wish I might be jealous, too. Can't imagine anything so moist and green right now as I stare out at frosty blues, greys and off-whites!

Mark this is such a splendid capture and superb idea to provide us with this warming image on a cold winter morning. Florida really is a beautiful and majestic place and you seemed to have found one of those spots there that was begging to be photographed.

Nice composition Mark with the eye leading into the bend and the lush verdant greens! A suitable colour to make us envy the weather there!

Stunning image Mark! The leaves absolutely sparkle in the sun! I love the serene feel as your eye is led down the path, the curve that leads around a bend and makes you wonder what is around that bend. Romantic, I can see lovers holding hands as they stroll, a very meditative walk where one can collect their thoughts and gather new energy. Beautiful and peaceful!

Mark you are really showing us all your best stuff. I appreciate your 2D and the hours upon hours of work you pour into each remarkable piece. I recognize excellent writing when I see it...you do it so well, e.g., yesterday's humorous tale of seeing Carl off. And for the past month ot two, the "remarkable" photos that you either wow us with directly or use to celebrate something special. This photo of some walkabout of yours in Florida is more than a snapshot...look at the detail, the color and the atmosphere you've created. You've taken us right down this road with you. Wow. Do we get to stop for lunch? I am always hungry for more:)

You do exactly what you did--stop, take a few shots and share the result with us!! This is a blast of warmth, I can hear the leaves rustle as that wonderful tropical breeze wafts through the trees. I can smell the air, full of the very special life that you find only in places like this, places my heart and soul simply yearn for. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm just going to sit down and take it all in!!

OMG, with that title, I should have known you were referring to Florida, or somewhere in the great Southeast. In contrast, Southern California is warm and very dry during December. Superlative POV, colors, lighting and contrast in this pristine arboreal estate capture, Mark!

I remember discussing this image at length, fiddling with it, comparing results ... but WOW! This just leaps off the page at me. Your postwork choices are spot-on perfect. You brought out the light, retained those gorgeous shadows, brought out the lushness and the richness of that place, in ways I never would have thought of. I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying seeing your photography. You listen to everyone, look at everything, and then produce something that is wholly Mark, wholly genuine and honest, and that rocks my world! Wow.

Sigh. It's raining here, cold and damp. In January. When it's supposed to be c-c-c-cold and snowy. So looking at this deliciously warm and very green scene is almost as good as being there. The path just begs to be walked down, calls to me to go around the curve to see what lies beyond, maybe a view of the ocean, or a lovely park .. and sunshine, more sunshine .. sigh

Not only do you have a wonderful artist's eye for composition, but your postwork is exemplary! (No real surprises here, knowing what you do with your drawings and paintings in PS.) I love the high contrast, the deep shadows and the rich colours, and of course the composition that just makes me want to follow in your footsteps to see what's next...
