Description
This is a chocolate brown Limpkin – 26 inches (66cm) long. It is a wading bird that I caught in our side yard, hunting for snails and insects. He is named for its unusual limping gate. He walks or hunts with his legs bent and his body very close to the ground. He hangs around our lake because there are fresh water clams in there. ZOOM to see his large web-less feet. Photo taken yesterday morning.
