Description

There is a public bath called "SENTO" in Japan. Because the government which was afraid of a fire in the Edo era limited the building of the home bath. "SENTOU" became popular. It still exists, but the numbers decrease by the spread of home baths. They enter it from the man and woman separate entrances and pay admission in common acceptance and part again to separate bathroom. Mostly an attendant is an elderly woman because she must check both man and woman bathroom. Thank you for viewing! Nice work and interesting bit of culture. I have always been fascinated by all things Japanese. Particularly their love of beauty and harmony which shows in the arts (including martial arts), gardens, buildings, traditions, and so forth that I have seen.

Sounds a bit like the tradition of Roman baths. Am I right in thinking that, traditionally, a person washes first out of the tub and then gets in the water to relax? Nice image!
