Description

Although the title is Autumn Light, this image was taken in June, and the light was fairly flat. There was no water nearby. This is all about the postwork! Here's my point in telling you this: if you have an image that's sort of "mehh-hh," play with it! Use filters. See what you can come up with. The more I play, the more I learn, and the more fun I have! This started out as a nicely composed but rather dull image. The light, the drama, the water, was all a construct. Whether you like the result or not, the point is that this image has a totally different feel to it from the original, and you can do anything you want! Get busy! Play around!

Wonderful color and motion. When I first saw it, it reminded me of 'Fantasia' when the fairy touches the edge of a leaf and the autumn color runs down into it. Beautiful light and superb postwork! Postwork is so much fun and sometimes great things come out of it. I only know the tip of the iceberg of what is there to know. I look forward to finding new tools and seeing what they do. Beautiful image!

I love a good tweak. Especially when you can't tell its a tweak. I am a firm believer in playing around and having fun. Though many of my photographs are untweaked, or only very moderately played around with, I have vast files of photographs that have been modified in sometimes extreme ways; for me the whole point of digital photography is to see just what a photograph can actually be. And having said that, I must say that I wholeheartedly love this photograph...digital water and all. The colors and light are amazing, and well...the whole thing just pops. This is super work! It has the Tara touch too, I can see it--not in the post work itself but in the very aesthetic: that shimmering realism that seems almost dream-like.

I love to play with filters. Some of my more dramatic photo manipulations came about that what. This is really coll. I love it.
