Description

I went up to the Skagit Valley with friends yesterday. We went in search of bald eagles, and had a wonderful time! This is just one of the beautiful views as you drive up the valley.

Toto, I have the feeling we're not in Chicago anymore. Excellent shot! This certainly makes me think of eagles. Did you see any? Beautiful place and capture!

Until i joined RR I never thought about your part of the world as having these peaks. They were there on the map, but only photos bring home their beauty!

Beautiful Tara! In my mind there is no other state as beautiful as Washington with its glorious mountains, beautiful forests, blue skies and how lucky are they to have that kind of view everyday. Perfect postcard to show the wonder of Washington!

As always, superb work. WOW! That light is amazing! I love the colors as well! You certainly have a great eye for this kind of stuff...and I love the fact that it came about due to a search for bald eagles; that's something I'd never consider. We had a single nesting pair near Chicago and that made a big splash, but we find the presence of predatory birds to be rather...exotic in this part of the world. We have hawks, but not near the city, and so going out to look for predatory, graceful things that fly is just amazing for me. The only predatory things we have IN Chicago are cats, and they're usually too busy sleeping on the sofa to be much good at the predation thing. This is gorgeous, and I love the POV. I especially like the way the mountain peak looks as if its exhaling smoke in a failed attempt at blowing smoke rings--you need a flexible tongue and lips for that, and I somehow don't think of mountains as having flexible body parts and so yeah...smoke rings would be hard for them to blow. This is great work!

Just realized I hadn't commented. How did that happen? I really like this crop. Including the home and associated buildings gives context to the beautiful peak in the distance. And I am so proud of the State of Washington...blue sky in the month of January! Nicely done my dear:)
