Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Haiku is fairly new to me, I am going to have to study some on it. But! This is great, very clear intent in the words and if your dream came true, Yay! good for you!!! Excellent writing!

Nicely done Marilyn. I have come to grips with this form but now I am reluctant to try and embarrass myself. LOL.

Haiku is so much fun, especially if you go old school with it, like Basho and Chiyo-ni. They are among my favorite poets, and there are some modern Haiku masters, but I can't recall their names. Haiku is alive and well the world over, but very little of it is actually "old school" but that's okay...it's still fun. And in the spirit of Haiku, my favorite poetic form, I'll finish my comment in reference to the way this inspired me. The words of a poem Twist quietly and dream-like I sit in silence.
