Description

Captured 1/16/10, very early in the morning, within walking distance of my recidivist residence. Check it out full size. Hate to break up my riveting parade of automobile collages, but felt I had to put this one up before I forgot all about it, which I tend to do. The sun was just coming up over the horizon when I took this pic. Ta-ta, and thankx for the look-see.

Wow, it looks like it's been Ratbagged by nature! I love the reflection of the sun on the sides of the pickets, it gives them such a lovely warm colour. And it looks as if the sun is speared on the tallest picket. Fantastic POV and capture!

Super POV and capture Harry! I like the sun with its rainbow rays peeking thru:-) Interesting that the pickets are set into bricks, I haven't seen that before, very nice!

If this was a setting sun you could claim it impaled itself on a picket. Well done Harry. This looks like a fibreglass or plastic model...low maintenance.

Great POV, shadows, sunlight and rays! I like the long shadows of another fence behind this one. Excellent capture!

yes, the sun is in a terrific place—balanced between two pickets—and the flare is powerful but it doesn't take over the shot. (Now that I'm photographing, I can really appreciate these things. I have a devil of a time managing the sun.) Sometimes you get objects that have striking detail, other times you'll capture objects that seem more like soft-presences—they dominate but they're almost painterly. This seems one of the latter to me: a softened fence w/ softened background—ratbagged, as Denise says (and it does have that softened Denise feel)—with a nice peak in the pickets & a really nice angle/pov. I also like that you included the brick at bottom and right side, a frame. A soft, sensuous capture, another nice addition to your series, and a gentle feel to the light (being early morning). A fine image for one our beloved members.
